About Silver

Silver is called the metal of the moon. Its white, highly reflective surface represents purity. Many ancient civilizations gave it deep mystical qualities. Silver jewelry generally comes in two versions: fine and sterling. Fine silver is 99.9% pure; sterling silver is a mix of about 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy. Fine silver is softer than sterling and develops a fine gold-like patina over time. Sterling silver is harder than fine silver and used when durability is important. The alloy in sterling silver tarnishes and requires occasional polishing with a soft cloth.

Wynncraft silver is hand crafted by the artisan. Each piece is hand-worked to bring out the richness and luster of the image cast deep in the silver. Each piece is drilled for a bail, given a fine patina and hand polished to bring out its unique beauty and detail.

About Hand Crafted Jewelry

No two pieces of hand crafted jewelry are alike. Each piece is unique, depending on dozens of factors ranging from initial fabrication to the fine patina applied after everything is complete. The photographs in these pages are for illustration only.
